Looks Like Alan Wake 2 Concept Art Is All We’re Getting For A While

After previously promising to show Alan Wake 2 this summer, Remedy Entertainment explained today that people will have to wait a little longer for more information on the sequel to the beloved (and recently remastered) 2010 thriller.

“Everything is going great,” Remedy creative director Sam Lake said via video message. “Much of the game is playable. But we’ve been talking for the past two months, and we’ve decided that we won’t show anything big this summer. »

Lake, who wrote the original Alan Wake and lead Alan Wake 2added that creating a “proper and polished” demo or trailer would have taken several months of game development. momentum that would come from moving from the game itself to marketing.

“We want to make sure we’re creating the best experience possible, the best first survival horror game for Remedy,” Lake continued. “We don’t want to take the team away from that focus to work on a demo right now.”

It’s not all bad news, thankfully. Remedy also shared news Alan Wake 2 concept art, some of which we’ve included in this story. Watch the video above to learn more.

In the 12 years since the first game was released, Remedy has merged Alan Wake with his 2019 hit Control to create what the studio is now calling the Remedy Connected Universe. The connection between the two series was explored in more detail in the second Control expansion, ADMIRATION.

“For over 10 years we’ve had a wild dream,” Lake wrote at the time. “The idea that the stories told in some of our games would be connected to each other, a connected world of stories and events with shared characters and lore. Slowly, patiently, behind the scenes, we planned and conspired to make it a reality.

Although he missed his big summer debut, Remedy says Alan Wake 2 is still scheduled for launch in 2023.
