Rebel Wilson dazzled on the red carpet for the premiere of her new film.
The 42-year-old Australian actress attended a special screening for Netflix Secondary yearin which she stars alongside fellow Australian Angourie Rice, as well as Alicia Silverstone and Justin Hartley.
Wilson looked stunning in an emerald green off-the-shoulder gown for the event, held at The London West Hollywood.
The high school comedy marks Wilson’s first feature film role since she lost 100 pounds, having doubled 2020 – the year she turned 40 – as her “year of health”.
The last time she graced the big screen was in the star-studded 2019 live-action flick Catswhich was criticized both critically and commercially.
Wilson explained how she started the journey to let go of her bad eating habits and develop a fitness routine the moment she started filming Cats.
The star wrote on Instagram at the start of 2020: “OK so for me 2020 is going to be called ‘The Year of Health’.
“So I put on the athleisure and went out for a walk, deliberately hydrating on the couch right now and trying to avoid sugar and junk food, which is going to be tough after the holidays I’ve come to have but I’m going to do it! Who’s with me to make positive changes this year?”
In the months that followed, physical changes to Wilson’s body began to show, along with his growing confidence.
Wilson started getting people talking with gorgeous Instagram posts showing off her slimmed down figure.
There were major pressures on Wilson’s career, however, after she rose to fame in her role as “Fat Amy” in 2012. Perfect.
In a June 2020 interview with The sunshe revealed that she was paid to stay taller by movie bosses.
“It’s not like I want to lose weight and hit a certain number. It’s more than that, it’s about mentally dealing with why I ate too much and had a job where I was paid a lot of money. money to be bigger, which can sometimes throw your head off a bit,” Wilson said.
“So now I just try to work on the mental side and the physical work and do a lot of personal training and, and on the nutrition side, like that’s cool, I should probably write a book at a moment about it because people seem to be interested.”
