star fieldthe next great RPG from old scrolls and Fall Bethesda developers, has been delayed from a 2022 release to 2023, the company just announced.
Originally slated for release in November 2022 on PC and Xbox consoles, it will now release in the “first half of 2023”. He was joined by red fallArkane Austin’s vampire shooter, which was due out this summer on the same platforms.
Bethesda released a short statement about the two delays, saying:
We have made the decision to postpone the launches of Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023.
The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to make sure you get the best versions of them.
We want to thank everyone for their enthusiasm for Redfall and Starfield. This energy is a big part of what inspires us all every day and sparks our own enthusiasm for what we create.
We look forward to sharing our first deep dive into Redfall and Starfield gameplay soon. Thank you for your support.
The last time we saw star field was eight whole seconds back in March, when Ethan said:
Unless it’s delayed, the Xbox console-exclusive Starfield will be released on November 11. That said, we still haven’t really seen Bethesda’s next game outside of last year’s cinematic trailer and a slew of concept art.
Turns out, yes, there was a reason we barely saw anything of the game (it wasn’t ready). We still don’t know too much about it, aside from what was revealed a few months ago, which, if you missed it, included:
- OversightThe minigame of persuading NPCs returns in some form
- Four factions you can deal with: United Colonies, Freestar Collective, Ryujin Industries, and Crimson Fleet
- Siding with the United Colonies space cops won’t stop you from helping the Crimson Fleet pirates as well
- Deeper customization of character traits and background
- More realistic NPCs
