Team selection: Rd 9

Essendon named four inclusions in their Round 9 squad to face Sydney at SCG on Saturday night.

Four of the five late withdrawals last week due to illness have returned to the Bombers team.

Key Defenders Jordan Riley and Jacques Kelly will bolster the Dons’ back six, while fellow backman Brandon ZerkThatcher is not available for selection due to injury.

Sam Durham and Matt Guelfi regain their positions on the bench and in the front line respectively after recovering from illness.

Devon Smith will be missing through illness after bravely raising his hand to play last week.

Midfielder Brayden ham and advance key Kaine Baldwin were both omitted after being included late last week.

Last week’s unused medical submarine Alastair Lord was not named to the squad or the ER.
