The new BMW M offering will carry the iconic CSL moniker.

The upcoming BMW M4 CSL was officially teased in official images recently. The new M offering will carry the iconic CSL moniker and is set to make its official debut at Concorso d’Eleganza on May 20. It will be released as a 2023 model with likely further improved performance over the existing car.

The recently released teaser images hint at the car’s headlights with the same yellow LEDs found on the M5 CS. The new headlights are reminiscent of the circular angel headlights of the E90 M3 GTS. At the rear, LED taillight clusters appear to have taken inspiration from the taillight design of the previous generation M4 GTS version.

Apart from the lighting details, the rest of the aesthetic updates have been kept dark. However, expect upgrades to the car’s bumpers, wheels, and general profile, including the rear quad exhaust. The car will also feature numerous weight-saving measures to keep the overall curb mass low. Also expect to see functional aero upgrades, including a large rear-mounted wing spoiler.

At the heart of the new M4 CSL will be the acclaimed 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged straight-six engine with an overall output of almost 500 bhp. The engine will be mated to an automatic transmission which may be the only gearbox option. Also, xDrive can be part of the package.
