Princess Anne’s sweet nod to her absent nephew Prince William and Kate Middleton was a heartfelt moment as she hosted a major royal event.
As a senior member of the extended Royal Family, the Princess Royal plays an even more important role as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022 weekend approaches. Already one of the hardest working members of the Royal Family , Princess Anne once again showed her devotion to her duties by hosting a garden party at Buckingham Palace on May 12. Traditionally held every summer in London and at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland, the Queen has canceled her garden parties for the past two years due to the pandemic.
Now they are back in full swing and although the Queen has unfortunately not made an appearance, the Queen’s children have intensified. Prince Charles hosted the first garden party on his behalf with Princess Anne joining him.
A day later, the Princess Royal attended another and gave a special wink to Prince William and Duchess Kate with her spring outfit.

As Royal Patron of Not Forgotten, Princess Anne hosted the event which was attended by more than 3,000 guests from military organisations, charities and nursing homes. The Queen was absent, although according to The Independent she had given him permission to hold it within the grounds of Buckingham Palace and be hosted by her daughter.
Founded in 1920, the Not Forgotten association provides the injured, injured or sick with recreation and recreation for veterans. Princess Anne is the latest Princess Royal to be Patron, Princess Mary, then Princess Royal, having become the charity’s first Patron.
For this hugely meaningful occasion, Princess Anne opted for a purple and green flower patterned coat with bold lilac cuffs adding an extra touch of detail to the sleeves.

Going all out with the shades of the floral theme, she paired the look with an elaborate lilac hat and what appeared to be a purple dress. And eagle-eyed royal fans might just recognize this particular outfit from Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding. Princess Anne wore this floral coat and skirt to see the current Duke and Duchess of Cambridge say ‘I do’ in 2011.
Although at this time she wore a different hat in another complementary shade of purple, the overall outfit was the same.

With her nephew and niece also absent from the Garden Party and attending engagements in Scotland, Princess Anne’s sweet nod to their big day is extra special.
It comes just weeks after Kate Middleton and Princess Anne’s first joint engagement. And judging by the fan reaction, many are hoping to see these two royals team up many times in the future…
