Fans have expressed concern for a star of the hit Princess Diaries movies, who took to Twitter with a series of disturbing messages.
Princess Diaries actress Heather Matarazzo said she was “just struggling to survive” and “hit [her] limit with life” in a series of since-deleted tweets.
The messages came Thursday from the American star Official Twitteras she revealed her struggles trying to make it in Hollywood, BuzzFeed reported.
“I’ve reached my limit with all the games the universe plays. I’m done. I’m tired. I feel so lost,” wrote the 39-year-old, who played Lilly in Garry’s film. Marshall in 2001, New York Post reports.
“I feel lost because I feel like I did THE WORK, for a long time, without complaining,” she said.
“I took the disappointments, rejections, etc., and argued that the rejection is a redirect. I had continued FAITH in the universe, but today something snapped. I feel thrown away.
She further stated that she wanted a “life-changing victory” in another now-deleted tweet.
“I gave my life to comedy for more than 30 years. And I’m done struggling just to survive,” she said. “I just need a win. A life-changing win. Because that’s not it. F**k.
The post office contacted the Matarazzo rep for comment.
Fans expressed concern for the star – saying they were “a bit concerned” and offered their support by “sending love” to him.
Since starring in the 2001 Disney film and its 2004 sequel, Matarazzo has had roles in Welcome to the dollhouse, Cry 3, sisters and Checked in!
His IMDb page lists two additional films currently in post-production: The Mattachine family and Painting.
It wouldn’t be the first time Matarazzo has been candid about his struggles in the industry.
In 2017, she told the Guardian“I don’t know if I took a step back from Hollywood, or Hollywood took a step back from me.”
In the same interview, she also revealed that she was contemplating suicide after months of unsuccessful auditions in 2009.
“I was like, ‘What kind of sick, twisted universe is this?’ The fact that I’m still here is a miracle in itself,” she said.
She said people were under the impression that all the actors live “beautiful, untouchable lives”, stating, “But in reality, that’s just not the experience.”
Her reality was almost signing up to be a Lyft driver in 2017, she told the newspaper.
“Most people think I probably get paid a lot of money. But I really don’t, and most working actors don’t. I drive a fucking battered Prius and I just bought my first pair of new shoes in over two years,” she said.
The Diary of a Princess catapulted American actress Anne Hathaway to superstardom, and she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Wretched in 2013.
